The city of Lamego steeped in history, encloses the living testimonies of the Visigothic domain, Arab and Christian occupations. "Afonsinos" buildings, emblazoned houses, churches, monasteries and chapels, there is a confluence of styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. But the maximum splendour of the city is undoubtedly the majestic Sanctuary of "Nossa Senhora dos Remédios". In September, day and night, Lamego lives intensely the celebration of Pilgrimage to his patroness. The buzzing city of emotions, cultural events and processions, parades, religious: folklore and very, very fireworks, bumble bees and music bands, who every day take the party to the streets of the city.

Take a train ride between Régua and Pocinho in the Douro line, is a unique and unforgettable journey, because the line is almost always the banks of the Douro river. The journey also can be done by car or by boat. In any one of the options is a wonderful ride.

The Douro Valley is a world heritage site and is already reason enough to be visited. The scenario is a stunning spectacle with the vineyards on terraced hillsides rappel. Some emblematic sites such as Vila Real, Régua, Pinhão, São João da Pesqueira, Vila Nova de Foz Côa and São João de Tarouca deserve to be visited.
