    Raposeira is the brand of one of the best known Portuguese natural sparkling wines, integrated in the production of the wine region Távora-Varosa.

    The Raposeira cellars, producers of natural sparkling wine since 1898, are an ex-libris of the city of Lamego. In a large expanse of granite tunnels, thousands of bottles of this quality sparkling wine are preserved, under optimal natural conditions.

    The Monastery of Santa Maria de Salzedas is located in the parish of Salzedas, municipality of Tarouca, Portugal. It belongs to the Cistercian Order, dates from the 12th century, and its space was donated by Teresa Afonso, daughter of Count Afonso Nunes de Celanova, and wife of D. Egas Moniz, the Aio. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the monastery was enlarged, highlighting a new cloister in the 18th century with the trace of the Maltese architect Carlos Gimach.

  • "Ucanha" Fortified Bridge

    Throughout the 14th century, there were several attempts to exempt groups of residents from paying tolls, all of which were doomed to failure by the monks of Salzedas. In 1465, there was news that the complex was intervened, by the action of Abbot D. Fernando de Salzedas. The scope of the works carried out at that time is unknown, but it is assumed that they were of some importance, to the point of associating a commemorative epigraph of the undertaking. Unfortunately, the marks of this fourteenth century project are not easily identifiable and the whole group is waiting for a more complete study that can show what was done then.

    O Caminho dos Monges é um projeto supramunicipal que envolve dois municípios, Lamego e Tarouca, tendo uma extensão total aproximada de 42 km, cerca de 19 Km no concelho de Lamego e 23 km no concelho de Tarouca. Serão também implementados mais 3 caminhos complementares de acesso ao Caminho dos Monges, com aproximadamente 10 Km cada.
