In the 17th and 18th centuries, the monastery was enlarged, highlighting a new cloister in the 18th century with the trace of the Maltese architect Carlos Gimach.More info aqui"Ucanha" Fortified Bridge Throughout the 14th century, there were several attempts to exempt groups of residents from paying tolls, all of which were doomed to failure by the monks of Salzedas. In 1465, there was news that the complex was intervened, by the action of Abbot D. Fernando de Salzedas. The scope of the works carried out at that time is unknown, but it is assumed that they were of some importance, to the point of associating a commemorative epigraph of the undertaking.
